What We Do

Food brings people together. Come sit on the dining table and eat our differences.

Through cooking classes, ARISE and Shine brings immigrant and refugee families together along with the hosting communities. We serve and grow together by teaching the younger generation how to prepare important cultural dishes, as well as making healthy versions of their hosting communities’ classics. Cooking sessions also create nourishing food and new memories of positive family experiences in a caring environment. We also help to provide space to reconcile differences in communities, strengthen family bonds and pass down healthy culinary traditions.
